Secrets & Surprises Conversation Starters

“There are secrets we keep, secrets we tell, and some secrets that should never be kept.”

It is essential that we empower children with the knowledge, skills, and understanding to recognise different types of secrets - helping them stay safe, reduce their vulnerability, speak up when something isn’t right and seek support from protective adults. Empowering children with these skills isn’t about making them responsible for their safety, it’s about equipping them with the knowledge to seek help if or when they need it.
